The new ION is a supreme achievement in quality and performance, accomplished through attention to the finest detail whilst meeting every existing Flexifoil standard in excellence.
The new ION features a six strut layout with refined aerofoil shape, giving extra support between the leading edge and trailing edge and keeping feedback from the kite direct through the lines and to the bar. Flying this kite is effortless, allowing you to concentrate fully on your next move.
The simplified bridle system creates a perfectly balanced pull, meaning the pulley hardly needs to move. Multiple front and rear connection points let you customise and tune the kite to your individual style, giving you that extra competitive edge.
The ION?s anti-flutter trailing edge battens are designed to eliminate vibrations occurring as the trailing edge changes shape during a driving turn, avoiding any unnecessary turbulence and giving you a smoother, more predictable ride.
Flexifoil refuses to sacrifice on kite quality for a few extra pennies, and the ION is no exception to this rule. Using premium Teijin T9600 materials for longevity and UV protection, Dimensions Polyant Dacron® for the perfect balance between stability and stiffness on the Leading Edge, and Kevlar-Neoprene reinforcement patches over every circumferential seam we?ve continued to develop robustness and durability within the ION.
With the ION, Flexifoil is proud to use 110 micro TPU bladders, as opposed to the industry standard of 90. In simple terms this means you have the peace of mind of a more puncture resistant, longer lasting bladder.
The new ION continues with the EZ Single Point Inflation system to make your life simpler. The addition too of a dump valve on each wing tip means you can roll the kite in either direction at the end of a session, giving you an extra few precious minutes on the water. With the ION?s ease of set-up and pack-down, you?ll be first out and last in.
As with all Flexifoil products, our testing is intense. Our ION continues to meet our Molten Bladder endurance standards of 120°C. Further, the reinforced Dacron Leading Edge construction has achieved new levels of strength, showing a 40% increase in air pressure required to destroy the test samples.
